Hair today, Hair tomorrow
It's hard for me to find a good stylist. I have a lot of hair, often unruly and ...well, think Janis Joplin's hair. Yeaqh, sort of like that when it grows out. So not only is it difficult to find someone to manage these trusses, but it's also somewhat pricey for me so I don't go very often, which probably really isn't to my benefit anyway. When I find myself normally sitting in the salon chair trying to answer honestly whether I'm happy with their interpretation of the cut I saw in my mind...I nod mindlessly..."Yeah, it's fine." One day "fine" was so awful I went home and washed out the style.
I thought I'd been to Green Meadows Hair before. And in fact, at some point I had gone to something with a similar name, in a similar location...but not this new and improved business. The interior is lovely with feng shui'd booths, and wooden floors. I was greeted quickly and with a smile. So far so good. It smells nice too. Not like chemical treatments, moldy hair, or even hairspray. There a aromatherapy candles and other fine smelly things. So now I'm thinking..."I wonder how much this is going to cost." I never ask what the price is. If I get a good cut than it's worth it. As I sat in the chair with my head backwards and waited for the condition to be applied, I was suddenly thrilled to feel a neck massage, and then a scalp massage...WOW! For a haircut I get a Stress Relieving Treatment apparently! (Now I'm really wondering how much this will cost.) Deborah Pate (the stylist) asked me what I wanted to do. And she did exactly that every step of the cut. It was an awesome low stress experience all the way around, except for the woman one chair over that wouldn't get off her cell phone. gggrrrrr. So, anyway, I'm up at the counter to pay. She says it's $39. Only $39! I typically pay $30-40 at any other salon. And then Deborah brought ME a gift. It was a nice little package with a ribbon tie. It had a 2 little bottles of shampoo and conditioner. I'll be going back to Green Meadows Hair Co. & Spa. Great experience all the way around, AND I got a nice cut for my head mop. Two thumbs up.
